The Ciena (ONI) 133-1AW1-C00 is a passive CWDM add/drop band module for the Online Metro platform, described as an ACWDM-UP symmetric band passive assembly. As a passive component it needs no power. It multiplexes a defined coarse-WDM wavelength band onto or off the shared fibre so traffic on that band can be added or dropped at a given site without disturbing the other wavelengths.

Passive band splitters and combiners like this sit at the front end of an Online Metro DWDM/CWDM ring, splitting the spectrum into working sub-bands before active line cards handle the individual channels. The “symmetric” designation means the same band is handled equally on both the add and drop paths through the module.
