The Ciena (ONI) NXLNCEDD is an optical line module for the Online Metro platform, the card that interfaces the shelf to the DWDM line fibre carrying the multiplexed wavelengths.

Line modules sit between the shelf’s client/transponder cards and the outside fibre plant, handling the combined multi-wavelength signal as it leaves or enters the node, and often incorporating amplification or dispersion compensation depending on the specific variant.
