EMC DS-24M2 Connectrix 24 port 2 Gbit/s Fibre Channel fabric switch, the EMC badged McDATA Sphereon 4500.

The EMC DS-24M2 is a Connectrix Fibre Channel switch, EMC’s badged version of the McDATA Sphereon 4500. It is a 24 port 2 Gbit/s fabric switch licensed in eight port increments, so a given unit may be enabled for 8, 16 or 24 ports, with full line speed switching at 400 MB/s per port full duplex and 48 Gbit/s of aggregate switch bandwidth.

It supports full fabric operation and Fibre Channel loop devices, and can be joined with other switches to build a fabric of several hundred ports. Management is through the EFCM Basic web interface built into the switch. EMC resold McDATA hardware under the Connectrix name; McDATA itself was bought by Brocade in 2007, and EMC became part of Dell in 2016. Refurbished, with the enabled port count confirmed before it ships.
