The Ericsson ROF1314493/2 is a GCU2 (Group Switch Clock Unit), a clock/timing card used within the Ericsson MD110 / MX-ONE digital switching platform’s group switch. It contains an oscillator that can phase-lock to an external clock reference, keeping the group switch’s PCM timing synchronised across the exchange. This unit is deployed within Ericsson MD110 / MX-ONE and related switching systems, which have been widely used by telecommunications operators for public switched telephone networks (PSTN), mobile switching centres (MSC), and transit exchanges.
