The Huawei WD22USLP2 is a USLP2 (Universal Signal Lightning Protection unit, type 2), a dry-contact surge-protection board used in Huawei BBU3900 base band units. It protects monitoring and alarm signal circuits from lightning and surge damage, with input ports IN0 to IN3 connecting to customised alarm devices and output ports OUT0/OUT1 connecting to the EXT-ALM ports of the UPEU or UEIU in the cabinet. The USLP2 is normally installed inside the SLPU (signal lightning protection unit), which is configured with two USLP2 boards by default when used as an alarm-signal protection unit. It safeguards the environmental monitoring wiring of a distributed base station against voltage transients on exposed cabling. Supplied refurbished, it is an optional plug-in spare for maintaining Huawei BBU3900/BBU3910 sites.
