Huawei WP1X000OMU00 OptiX Optical Transmission Module

The Huawei WP1X000OMU00 is an Operation and Maintenance Unit (OMU) used in the Huawei BSC6900 base station controller. The OMU is the board that collects and processes operation and maintenance information for the controller and reports it to the operator’s management terminal, such as the LMT or M2000/U2000 network management system. It provides the local interface for configuration, alarm handling, performance data collection, software loading and system diagnostics across the controller and the base stations it manages. Running on Huawei’s DOPRA platform, the OMU acts as the management gateway for the BSC6900, and Huawei recommends keeping a spare OMU board per site because of its central role. This is legacy carrier-grade equipment, and refurbished units are a cost-effective way to maintain existing BSC6900 deployments or to hold as spares.
