The IBM 45E6196 is an LTO-4 half-high internal tape drive with a SAS interface, offering 800GB native and 1.6TB compressed capacity, with feature code FC5746 and the paired part numbers 45E1126 and 45E1127. It provides internal tape backup for IBM Power Systems and similar server chassis with a free half-high 5.25-inch bay, using the LTO Ultrium format’s higher native capacity over the older DAT/DDS drives. LTO-4 drives of this generation remain in service in established backup environments where a full library or autoloader replacement is not yet justified.
