The IBM 7316TF3 is a 17-inch flat panel rack-mounted console kit, a 1U TFT LCD monitor with 1280×1024 resolution that mounts directly into a standard 19-inch server rack rather than requiring separate desk space. The kit is supplied with the mandatory IBM Travel Keyboard, which mounts in the console’s own keyboard tray, and supports USB connectivity along with the NetBAY LCM Switch (feature 4202), which gives single-point KVM access and control across up to 64 servers from one console. Physically it occupies just 1.75 inches of rack height while weighing approximately 28.2lb, and it was widely deployed as the local console and HMC display for IBM Power Systems and other rack-mounted server estates. Consoles of this generation remain in service across many established data-centre deployments where a physical rack console is still required alongside remote management tools.
