The IBM 74Y1108 is a 12X I/O Expansion Drawer, PCIe, no disk, feature code 5877, a 4U rack-mount enclosure providing ten PCIe x8 adapter slots for Power6 and Power7 systems that have exhausted the PCIe capacity of their own central electronics complex. It attaches back to the host system over 12X DDR cabling (feature 1862, 1864 or 1865) and includes dual redundant, hot-swappable power supplies, making it suitable for adding storage, networking or Fibre Channel adapters to a running production system with minimal disruption.
