The IBM 74Y8412 is a memory voltage regulator module (VRM), rated at 95A, for the IBM Power 755 server, model 8236-E8C. It is a memory-side regulator rather than a processor one. It converts the system’s main supply voltage down to the lower, tightly regulated voltage the memory subsystem runs on, fitted close to the memory riser or DIMM bank it serves so that voltage delivery stays within tolerance under load.
