IBM’s zEnterprise mainframes use a pair of ThinkPad-based laptops as their Support Elements, the dedicated management consoles that configure, monitor and service the central processor complex, and this assembly is the physical laptop housing and structural hardware for that specific role rather than a general-purpose ThinkPad part.
