The LNR V2200 is a dual-band satellite converter system supporting both C-band and Ku-band operation with built-in 1:1 redundancy, combining upconversion or downconversion functions with automatic switchover to a standby tray for mission-critical earth station installations. Housed in a single rack unit, it was built to meet Intelsat, IDR, IBS and TDMA service requirements, and also supports SCPC, FM-FDM and HDTV traffic. This integrated approach reduces rack space and simplifies redundancy management compared with separate converter and switch units, and was aimed at teleports and hub facilities needing dependable, protected frequency conversion across two bands from a single system. As with other LNR ground segment products, the V2200 is built for rack mounting within the RF chain between the modem/exciter side and the antenna feed chain, with monitoring and alarm interfaces for remote operation. LNR Communications was an established supplier of satellite ground segment converters and switches, bought by L-3 Communications in 2001.
