The Nortel AL1912B01 is a BayStack 310-24T Ethernet switch, providing 24 fixed 10Base-T ports plus one autosensing 10/100Base-TX port and two expansion slots for a further pair of 10/100Base-TX or 100Base-FX ports, giving up to three high-bandwidth uplinks to servers, switches or the network core. Like the BayStack 450 covered elsewhere in this listing, it carries Nortel’s embedded enterprise-class software feature set, VLANs, VLAN trunking, MultiLink Trunking and MAC-based security, but at the entry end of the BayStack switching range, aimed at smaller wiring closets running mostly 10Base-T desktop connections rather than 10/100 throughout.
