The Nortel NTCW00AA is a DECT Mobility Card (DMC) for the Meridian 1 and Companion/DECT wireless telephony option. It is the controller card that manages the radio fixed parts (RFPs) and handset registration for Nortel’s DECT cordless extension to the Meridian PBX, giving users a wireless handset that behaves as a standard Meridian set rather than a separate cordless system. The DMC handles call handover between radio cells as a handset moves through a site, alongside paging and base-station supervision. Nortel DECT installations of this generation are still running in warehouses, hospitals and campus sites where wireless PBX extensions were fitted, and a spare DMC is needed when the existing card fails or a site’s DECT capacity is expanded.
