The Nortel DM1401102 is a Contivity 1700 VPN Router bundle, configured for 5 concurrent tunnels with dual 10/100 Ethernet LAN ports, a single PCI expansion slot and server software licensed for 128-bit encryption. The Contivity 1700 is one of Nortel’s mid-range Contivity VPN Router appliances, providing IPSec site-to-site and remote-access VPN termination, firewall and routing for branch-office and small-site deployments. The bundle configuration on this SKU determines the maximum simultaneous tunnel count and the encryption strength available out of the box; separate upgrade licenses were available from Nortel to raise tunnel counts on the same hardware. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market unit for engineers maintaining or replacing an existing Contivity 1700 deployment.
