The Nortel NT4N39AA is a Call Processor card (CPP IV, Pentium IV-based) for the Succession Communication Server for Enterprise (CSE) 1000, the compute board that runs the call server software controlling signalling, call routing and feature processing for the system. It sits in the same cPCI chassis family as the CSE 1000’s transition, disk-unit and CNI-2 cards, and generation matters: earlier Call Processor revisions are not directly interchangeable with the Pentium IV-based CPP IV. Succession CSE 1000 deployments are still found in enterprise and public-sector estates that migrated from Meridian 1 hardware onto Nortel’s IP-capable call server before Avaya’s 2009 acquisition of Nortel’s enterprise business.
