It links network groups within a multi-group Option 81/81C system, consolidating the switching function the earlier QPC412 pair carried out separately. Meridian 1 Option 81/81C systems of this generation remain in service in a number of established business telephony installations, and genuine DIGS spares are a routine requirement for maintaining multi-group switching capacity or restoring redundancy after a card failure.
