The Nortel NTK539QM is a 100G coherent OCLD (Optical Channel Laser and Detector) circuit pack for the 6500 Packet-Optical Platform. Built on Ciena’s WaveLogic 3 Extended (FLEX3 WL3E) coherent technology, it transmits and receives a 100 Gbit/s wavelength across the C-band and includes an integrated EDFA amplifier stage.

As a coherent line module it modulates client traffic onto a DWDM wavelength for long-haul, regional and metro transport, using coherent detection to achieve the reach and spectral efficiency that direct-detection cards cannot. The card operates within the 6500 photonic layer alongside amplifiers, WSS modules and ROADM elements.

The NTK539QM is part of Ciena’s established 100G portfolio and remains sought after for capacity expansion and sparing on deployed 6500 networks.
