The Nortel NTNZ52AA is a 20-port ADSL DMT (Discrete Multitone) access card from the Promatory G707 platform. Promatory Communications was a DSL access-equipment specialist that Nortel acquired in 2000 to build out its broadband access line, and the G707 access system carried the Promatory model naming into Nortel’s own DSLAM product range. This card provisions ADSL DMT subscriber lines from a central-office or remote-access-node shelf, aggregating 20 ports of subscriber-facing DSL capacity onto the shelf’s backhaul. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for engineers maintaining or expanding an existing Promatory/Nortel G707 DSLAM deployment. Nortel continued shipping Promatory-designed ADSL access hardware for several years after the acquisition before folding DSL access development into its broader wireline access portfolio.
