The Nortel NTTK25CAE5 is a 64MB software daughterboard, supplied blank, for Nortel’s Meridian 1 Option 11 Small System platform, part of the same class of Option 11 daughterboard hardware as the Option 11 controller cards catalogued in this range. It carries the flash memory that holds the Option 11’s call-processing software image; supplied blank, it needs the correct software load written to it, or transferred from the card it replaces, before it will run a live system. Tech-Star supplies this as a secondary-market spare for maintaining an existing Option 11 Small System installation. Daughterboards of this kind slot directly onto the Option 11 controller card rather than into their own backplane slot, so a spare blank board lets an engineer restore memory capacity or prepare a controller for a software upgrade without sourcing a whole new controller card.
