The Panasonic KX-TDA0196 is the RMT (Remote) card, an internal V.90 analogue modem card for Panasonic KX-TDA and KX-TDE series hybrid IP-PBX systems. It mounts on the main processing card and provides a dial-up modem connection over an analogue line, letting engineers carry out remote system programming, maintenance and diagnostics without an on-site visit. This reduces downtime and support costs for organisations running Panasonic PBXs across one or more sites. The KX-TDA0196 is compatible with the KX-TDA30, KX-TDA100, KX-TDA200 and KX-TDA600 platforms and their KX-TDE equivalents. These systems are now legacy, having been superseded by the Panasonic KX-NS range, but many remain in active service, which keeps demand for cards such as the KX-TDA0196 for remote administration and maintenance.
