The 3Com 3C17526 is a 4-Port 10GBASE-X expansion module for the Switch 8000 and Switch 8800 chassis families, using XFP (10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) optical connectors. It provides four ultra-high-performance 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections while retaining standard Ethernet packet format, with two LEDs per optical port on the module’s front panel for link status.

Fitting four 10-Gigabit ports on a single module gives higher port density than the single-port 10GBASE-X modules in the same range, suiting chassis slots dedicated to core or distribution interconnect rather than a single uplink. XFP transceivers are sold separately and selected to match the required reach and fibre type for each port.
