The IBM 00E1879 is an 8-slot DDR3 memory riser card for IBM Power7 servers, including the pSeries p740 (8205-E6D). It belongs to IBM feature EM01.

Each riser holds eight DDR3 memory modules and plugs into the server to expand memory capacity. The same EM01 riser is also found under other IBM part numbers, including 00E1199, 00E2097 and 00E6380.

Typical use is adding memory capacity to a p740, or replacing a faulty riser so that the server returns to its full memory configuration.
