The IBM 00P5618 is a Remote I/O-2 (RIO-2) loop connector cable, linking a system’s central electronic complex to its I/O expansion drawers over IBM’s second-generation RIO loop interconnect. RIO-2 succeeded the original RIO-G loop on later POWER5 and POWER6-generation RS/6000 and pSeries systems, carrying the same drawer-to-drawer traffic at higher bandwidth, and connector cables of this kind are the physical link completing that loop between a CEC and its attached I/O drawers. Tech-Star supplies this as a pull from decommissioned IBM Power-series equipment, suitable for restoring RIO-2 loop connectivity.
