The IBM 46K4734 is a 3-port PCI-X SAS 3Gb/s RAID adapter with 1.5GB of cache, CCIN 572F, feature code 5908, supporting attached disk, tape and optical devices for IBM’s 9117-MMA and related Power Systems servers. The onboard cache improves RAID write performance over a cache-less SAS controller, and the adapter ships with a gen-blind swap cassette for the 5790/5796 expansion drawers it commonly serves.
