The IBM 80P6958 is a 1.65GHz 2-way POWER5 DCM (Dual Chip Module) processor backplane board for the IBM eServer p5/pSeries 9111-520 server. Fitted as the system’s processor complex, it carries the two POWER5 processor cores that give the 9111-520 its compute capacity, and is the standard field replaceable unit for restoring a failed processor complex or upgrading an existing single-way 9111-520 to a 2-way configuration.

The p5-520 remains a common legacy Unix/AIX platform still found in a number of established data-centre environments, and matched processor backplanes are a routine requirement for maintenance and capacity work on these systems.
