The IBM 80P4308 is a 2-way 1.2GHz POWER4+ processor card, feature code 5222, closely related to the feature 5220 and 5224 processor cards used across IBM’s p615-class RS/6000 and pSeries systems (7029-6C3, 7029-6E3 and similar models) elsewhere in our range. It carries two 1.2GHz POWER4+ processor cores on a single card and slots into the system’s processor backplane, giving the host system its compute capacity.

Systems built around this processor generation remain in service in a number of established legacy Unix/AIX environments, and a matched-feature processor card is the standard field replaceable unit for restoring a failed processor or expanding an existing system.
