The Allied Telesis AT-A45/SC is a 1000BASE-FX expansion module with an SC connector, rated for around 2km over multimode fibre, an extended-reach Gigabit fibre option built into Allied Telesis’s proprietary media-module range. The 2km multimode reach is notably longer than a standard 1000BASE-SX module’s typical 220-550m, making it suited to longer inter-building or campus runs where a full single-mode LX/LH solution isn’t needed.
