The Allied Telesis AT-9424T is a Layer 3 switch with 20 ports of 10/100/1000BASE-T plus a further 4 ports of 10/100/1000BASE-T or SFP, a 24-port sibling within Allied Telesis’s standalone AT-9900 series alongside the AT-9924T. It is built for wiring-closet or small-core deployments that need full Layer 3 routing rather than simple switching, with the combination SFP/copper uplink ports giving a choice of fibre or copper for the core-facing connections. AT-9900 series units of this generation remain in service across established enterprise networks, and genuine spares are a routine requirement for maintaining capacity or restoring redundancy after a fault.
