The Sonus CNA02 is a hot standby E1 redundancy adapter for the Sonus GSX9000 media gateway. It backs up the working E1 adapter in a protected configuration, letting the gateway keep its trunks up through a card failure. It is specified as part of a redundant pair rather than used on its own.

GSX9000 gateways bridged TDM trunks to packet networks and stay in service where interconnect has not been fully migrated. Sonus Networks is now Ribbon Communications, following the 2017 merger with GENBAND.
