The Sonus CNS30 is a single-port T3 circuit network server for the Sonus GSX9000 media gateway. A circuit network server terminates TDM trunks and hands the channels to the packet side of the gateway; this variant handles one T3, which carries the equivalent of 28 T1s on a single interface. It works with the matching rear adapter that presents the physical T3 connection.

The GSX9000 is a 16-slot media gateway chassis: two slots carry redundant management network servers and the remaining fourteen take circuit or packet network server modules, each paired with a rear-panel adapter that presents the physical interfaces. Sonus merged with GENBAND in 2017 to form Ribbon Communications.
