The Polycom Kirk Base Station is a DECT base station unit designed for enterprise wireless telephony deployments. This unit provides radio coverage for DECT handsets, enabling cordless voice communications across office and industrial environments.
The Kirk range of DECT infrastructure was originally developed by Kirk Telecom before acquisition by Polycom. These base stations form part of multi-cell DECT systems, allowing seamless handover between coverage zones and supporting multiple concurrent calls within the coverage area.
This is a legacy product line, with Kirk DECT infrastructure now discontinued following Polycom’s subsequent acquisition by Poly (formerly Plantronics and Polycom). However, existing Kirk DECT deployments remain in service across many enterprise environments, and replacement base stations are frequently required to maintain coverage or replace failed units.
