External table microphone pod for the Polycom HDX 7000 video conferencing codec.

The Polycom 2201-23313-003 is an external microphone pod for the HDX 7000 video conferencing system. The HDX codec has no useful microphone of its own, so a table pod of this type is a required part of the installation rather than an accessory: it carries the array that picks up the room and feeds it to the codec over a single cable that also supplies power.

Larger rooms chain two or three pods down the table from the same codec. The pod includes a mute control with an indicator ring visible from across the room. Microphone pods are matched to the codec generation, so an HDX pod is not interchangeable with the earlier VSX or the later Group series. Polycom merged with Plantronics in 2018, traded as Poly from 2019, and Hewlett Packard bought the business in 2022. Supplied by Tech-Star from the UK with worldwide shipping.
