Polycom 2201-16000-001 SoundStation/SoundPoint/VSX/HDX/CX conferencing Video & Audio Conferencing

The Polycom 2201-16000-001 is a SoundStation2 analogue conference phone, supplied as the console item within the SoundStation2 range. Three microphones set around the unit give roughly a three metre pickup radius, enough for a table of six to eight, and the full duplex design lets both ends talk at once without the syllable clipping half duplex speakerphones produce.

It works on an ordinary analogue line or an analogue PBX extension, needing no VoIP infrastructure at all, which is why these remain in service in rooms that have otherwise moved to IP. A 2201 prefix denotes the unit rather than the full retail kit, so the power module and cabling may need to be ordered alongside it. Plantronics acquired Polycom in 2018 and the combined company rebranded to Poly; Hewlett Packard bought it in 2022. Tech-Star holds this line in the UK and ships internationally.
