The 3Com 3C17300A is a SuperStack 3 Switch 4226T, a fixed-configuration switch with twenty-four autosensing 10/100 copper ports for desktop and workgroup connections plus two autosensing 10/100/1000 copper uplink ports for Gigabit backbone or server connections. It shares the same port layout and switching engine as the standard 4226T, forwarding at up to 6.6 million packets per second.

Management is available via SNMP, a web interface or a command-line interface. Resiliency features include Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol and link aggregation on the two Gigabit uplink ports, with an optional redundant power supply. The unit is a standard 1U rack-mountable footprint shared across the Switch 4200 family.
