The Huawei WBBPB2 is a WCDMA baseband processing board (WBBP family) for Huawei’s BBU3900/DBS3900 base station baseband unit, providing 3G (UMTS/WCDMA) carrier baseband processing capacity within the shared 3900 series hardware platform. As with other boards in the WBBP range (which also includes the WBBPB4 and WBBPD2 variants), the ‘b2’ designation identifies a specific processing capacity tier, letting operators scale WCDMA carrier and cell capacity within a BBU3900 chassis without changing the surrounding subrack, control board or power infrastructure. The board slots into the BBU3900/BBU3910 subrack alongside the WMPT/UMPT main control and transmission board and communicates baseband data to the RF/RRU layer over the standard CPRI interface. It is used for capacity expansion, board-level replacement and spares holding on existing WCDMA deployments.
