Huawei OSN1500: OptiX OSN 1500 compact STM-16 hybrid MSTP optical transmission platform for SDH and packet access networks.

The Huawei OSN1500 is the OptiX OSN 1500, a compact STM-16 hybrid MSTP platform for the access and edge layers of SDH and packet transport networks. It shares the unified switching design of the larger OSN 3500, so it runs in TDM, packet and hybrid modes. Huawei built it in two subrack versions, the OSN 1500A and the higher-capacity OSN 1500B.

The OSN 1500B has 12 service slots and switches 60 Gbit/s of higher-order and 20 Gbit/s of lower-order TDM traffic. Maximum counts per subrack are 5 STM-16, 22 STM-4 and 54 STM-1 interfaces, with up to 190 E1s, 56 FE and 12 GE ports. It supports two-fibre and four-fibre MSP rings, 1+1 and 1:N linear MSP and SNCP, with 1+1 hot backup of the system control boards.

At 221 x 444 x 263 mm and 13 kg, running from -48 V or -60 V DC, it fits sites with little rack space.
