The Huawei 020VVT is an ISU2, an Intermediate Frequency (IF) board used in Huawei’s OptiX RTN series microwave radio transmission systems. The ISU2 receives and transmits one channel of IF signal, provides a management channel and -48V DC feed to the outdoor unit (ODU), and functions as either an SDH IF board for TDM microwave links or an Integrated IP microwave IF board carrying native E1, native Ethernet and MPLS/PWE3 services, depending on the network element it is fitted to. ISU2 boards are a core transmission-side component of Huawei’s RTN microwave backhaul platform, widely deployed to link base stations back into the transport network where fibre is unavailable. Operators maintaining existing Huawei OptiX RTN microwave links continue to source ISU2 boards for maintenance and expansion.
