The Avaya TN2214CP is a 2-wire digital line circuit pack for the Avaya Definity/G3 PBX platform, terminating Avaya’s proprietary 2-wire digital telephone sets (the Definity/Avaya digital handset range) and giving each connected extension full access to the system’s call-handling, transfer, conferencing and feature-key functionality.

Definity was AT&T’s and then Lucent’s enterprise PBX, carried forward by Avaya as Communication Manager, and it is built from a cabinet of TN-prefixed circuit packs. Digital line cards for proprietary handsets sit alongside analogue line cards, trunk cards for outside circuits, tone and announcement packs and control packs for the processor complex. The platform ran for decades with the same physical card format, which is why individual packs are still traded and still fit.
