The Avaya TN2402 is a Processor circuit pack for the Avaya Definity/G3 PBX platform, part of the control complex that runs the system’s call-processing software and coordinates the other circuit packs in the cabinet. A working processor pack of the correct vintage is required for the cabinet to operate at all, which makes it one of the more critical spares to hold for an active Definity/G3 site.

Definity was AT&T’s and then Lucent’s enterprise PBX, carried forward by Avaya as Communication Manager, and it is built from a cabinet of TN-prefixed circuit packs. Processor and control packs sit alongside line, trunk and tone/announcement packs in the same cabinet, and the platform ran for decades with the same physical card format, which is why individual packs are still traded and still fit.
