Nortel NTHR91DA (telecommunications transmission and networking portfolio) Telecom System Card / Module

The Nortel NTHR91DA is recorded as a Passport 15000 AAL1 emulator card. AAL1 is the ATM adaptation layer used to carry constant bit rate traffic, which is how circuit emulation puts 2 Mbit/s and other TDM circuits across an ATM network without changing the equipment at either end. That designation is what our supplier record gives, and we have not expanded it beyond what we can support, so treat the wider detail as unconfirmed until we have checked the unit.

Passport and DPN-100 nodes are maintained card by card. Interface type, connector standard and port count are fixed by the individual card, which is why the exact part number and release matter far more than the platform name on the front of the rack.
