The Allied Telesis AT-8012M-QS is a Layer 2 managed switch with 12 ports of 10/100BASE-TX plus one expansion bay, stackable and rackmountable with an internal fanless power supply, part of Allied Telesis’s AT-8000 (CentreCom) series of stackable switches sold from the late 1990s through the mid-2000s for wiring-closet and workgroup edge deployments. Its fanless design suited quieter office environments where a standard rack-mount switch’s cooling fans were a nuisance. AT-8000 series units of this generation remain in service, and spares are a routine requirement for maintaining capacity or restoring a stack after a fault.
