The Cisco ASA5580-PWR-AC is an 800W hot-plug redundant AC power supply for the Cisco ASA 5580 Series Adaptive Security Appliance, accepting 100-240V AC input and designed for both the ASA 5580-20 and ASA 5580-40 chassis variants. The ASA 5580 was Cisco’s high-end firewall platform for large enterprise and data-centre deployments, and it supports dual power supplies for N+1 redundancy; this unit is the field-replaceable spare used either to restore power after a supply failure or to add the second supply for full redundancy. It can be hot-swapped without taking the appliance out of service. Cisco discontinued the ASA5580-PWR-AC in 2017, making spares increasingly important for sites keeping this platform running.
