Cisco RSP4=: Route Switch Processor 4, the main system processor for Cisco 7505, 7507, 7513 and 7576 routers in the 7500 Series.

The Cisco RSP4= is the Route Switch Processor 4, the main system processor for Cisco 7500 Series routers. It runs the routing protocols and the high-speed switching functions for the whole chassis.

The board is built around an IDT R5000 RISC processor at 200 MHz. It ships with 32 MB of DRAM, expandable to 256 MB, plus 2 MB of SRAM for packet buffering and 16 MB of onboard flash. Two PC Card slots take flash cards for IOS images and configuration files, and console and auxiliary serial ports give local and remote terminal access.

It fits the Cisco 7505, 7507, 7507-MX, 7513, 7513-MX and 7576. In a 7507 or 7513, two processors can be installed under High System Availability (HSA), with a standby ready to take over if the active one fails. It needs Cisco IOS Release 11.1(22)CC or later. The later RSP4+ adds ECC memory and 64 MB as standard.
