Cisco WS-SUP720 enterprise networking (router/Catalyst switch/UCS families) Datacentre Switch

The Cisco WS-SUP720 is a Catalyst 6500-series Supervisor Engine 720, integrating the switch fabric, Policy Feature Card 3 (PFC3) and Multilayer Switch Feature Card 3 (MSFC3) onto a single module. The integrated 720Gbps switch fabric gave the Catalyst 6500 chassis a dedicated crossbar backplane connection for fabric-enabled line cards, while the PFC3/MSFC3 combination provided hardware-accelerated Layer 3 forwarding, security and QoS policy enforcement.

Supervisor Engine 720 was Cisco’s flagship Catalyst 6500 supervisor for most of the platform’s service life, and chassis fitted with it remain common on established enterprise and data-centre networks that have not migrated to newer Catalyst hardware. A genuine Sup720 is the standard way to restore a failed supervisor or refresh an older, lower-throughput supervisor in an existing chassis. Tech-Star (UK-based, shipped worldwide) inspects and tests each unit before dispatch; confirm compatibility with your chassis and line card mix before ordering.
