Dell 0935219-04 PowerEdge / PowerConnect / PowerVault / EqualLogic HDD

The Dell 0935219-04 is an EqualLogic 250 GB 7,200 rpm 3.5 inch SATA hard drive supplied in its EqualLogic drive carrier.

The carrier matters as much as the drive. EqualLogic arrays use their own sled, and the array firmware checks the drive it finds against what it expects, so a bare drive of the same capacity and interface bought elsewhere will not simply drop into a PS series chassis and rebuild. Buying the qualified drive with its tray is what avoids that problem.

Capacity matching matters too. In an EqualLogic member the drives form a single RAID set, and a replacement smaller than the others cannot be used at all while a larger one is used only to the size of the smallest, so the practical requirement is a like-for-like part. Arrays of this generation are typically kept running because the data and the licensing sit with the existing hardware, which is exactly the situation where a matching spare is needed at short notice. Tech-Star is UK-based and ships worldwide. Tell us the PS series model you are replacing into and we will confirm the drive.
