The HP J9151A is an X132 10G SFP+ LC LR transceiver, the long reach module in the X132 range. It uses 1310 nm optics over single mode fibre with an LC duplex connector, which is the standard choice for 10 Gigabit links between buildings or across a campus where multimode reach runs out. The module is hot pluggable and takes its configuration from the host switch, so swapping one is a physical operation rather than a configuration change.

Transceivers are the pluggable optics that decide the reach and media of a switch or router port, and HP sold them under the X120, X130 and X132 names across the SFP, SFP+ and later form factors. Reach and wavelength vary by model, from short range multimode inside a building to extended reach single mode across a metro span, and copper SFPs cover short RJ-45 runs.
