The HP J9145A is a ProCurve Switch 2910al-24G, a stackable enterprise-class access switch offering 24 Gigabit ports with a fuller Layer 2/3-lite feature set (advanced QoS, static routing, IPv6) than HP’s smaller 2500/2600 access switches, positioned as a step up in capability while remaining a fixed-configuration (non-modular) unit. The 2910al series supports HP’s stacking so that multiple physical switches can be managed and routed as a single logical unit, useful for larger wiring closets that have outgrown a single switch’s port count. It sits above the 2600-series in HP’s ProCurve access range and below the fully modular zl-series chassis switches, aimed at mid-size enterprise access layers needing more than basic switching but not a full chassis platform.
