The HP JD311B is the A3100-8-PoE v2 EI switch, an eight port managed Fast Ethernet switch with Power over Ethernet on the access ports and gigabit uplinks. The Enhanced Interface (EI) variant carries the fuller management feature set of the A3100 v2 range, including VLANs, spanning tree, link aggregation and access control.

The A3100 line came out of the H3C engineering lineage that HP acquired, so the same hardware is sometimes quoted under other codes. The JD part number is HP’s own, which is the one to match when you are sourcing a replacement or holding spares against an HP support contract.
