The Huawei WP11DPUG is a DPUg, a Data Processing Unit board for the Huawei BSC6900 base station controller and the associated RNC6900 and BSC6910 platforms. As a service processing board it carries user-plane and control-plane traffic inside the controller subrack, delivering the data and signalling throughput that manages calls, packet sessions and mobility across the connected GSM and UMTS radio access network. It is a processing board, not an optical transmission card. The DPUg sits in a PARC subrack alongside the switching (SCU), clock (GCU) and operation and maintenance (OMU) boards, and controller capacity scales with the number of DPU boards installed. Data Processing Units are a routine maintenance and expansion spare for operators running BSC6900 and RNC6900 controllers.
